A single-circle CDS with a curved 'PAQUEBOT' at top; three horizontal lines: 'POSTED AT SEA / RECEIVED / (DATE)
and a curved (CITY NAME) at the bottom.
There is some variability - a time stamp may be under the date and sometimes there is neither date nor time stamp.

This cancellation was in use for three-quarters of a century or more in some places. While mainly used in British ports it was used in some Canadian ports also.

3 The later version had larger letters. Also used without date.
4 Earlier version used 'St. John'; later version used 'Saint John NB'.
